Coastline Housing has secured an outright Possession Order against a serious Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) perpetrator in St Austell following a recent court case.
The perpetrator had a prolonged history of aggressive, intimidating, and nuisance behaviour towards neighbours, including driving offences and alleged possession of a firearm, since moving into the property in 2022. Devon and Cornwall Police had attended the property several times, often resulting in the arrest of the perpetrator. ASB warnings were issued to the individual in response to ongoing complaints. Despite these interventions, the behaviour continued to escalate, leaving some neighbours feeling very concerned.
Coastline made extensive efforts to resolve the situation. This included working closely with affected residents, Devon and Cornwall Police, and Cornwall Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team. Unfortunately, these measures were unsuccessful and the ASB persisted.
One serious incident resulted in the perpetrator being arrested after threatening a neighbour whilst children were present. This led to the perpetrator being remanded in custody.
Due to the severity of the incident Coastline initiated possession proceedings. The court initially granted an Injunction Order to prohibit the perpetrator from returning to the area. The property was secured.
After a thorough investigation and obtaining witness statements from some of those who had been affected by the perpetrator, the Court subsequently granted outright possession of the property. This included keeping the Injunction in place until January 2028.
Coastline is waiting to obtain a bailiff’s warrant. Once the warrant has been executed and the property cleared it will undergo the extensive repairs required due the damage caused by the perpetrator.

The eviction brings a sense of relief to the neighbours and the wider community who have experienced alarm and distress caused by the intimidating and aggressive behaviour of this individual.”
