Clients from our Homeless Service have taken part in a community recycling workshop at One Blue Eye in Helston.
One Blue Eye aims to create high-quality, sustainable products that reflect a connection to the ocean and a commitment to preserving it. It's run by Matt Nott who greeted clients at the start of the day and gave an interesting talk about how beach plastic collected locally can be transformed into inspiring and eye-catching accessories. Every product embodies respect for the sea, empowering ocean lovers to protect what they love.
Clients and Homeless Service colleagues were shown how to use high-tech equipment to transform plastic debris into new objects. Each client came away from the activity with more awareness about how they can make a difference and also how technology can be used to recycle plastic waste into artistic objects.
One client said: "I really enjoyed the visit today, what was cool was using the special equipment to quickly transform plastic debris found on local beaches into something of value and which looks good as well."
Thanks to Matt for giving the group such a fascinating day. We're sure the memories will stay with these clients for a long time.
