Thermostat
This is the brain of your heating. It monitors the temperature of your room and tells the heat pump when to keep going or when to ease off. To save the most money, find your comfortable temperature – usually between 18 and 21°C – set it, and forget it.
Programmer
This defines the schedule for your heating. Unlike old boilers that you might flick on and off, a heat pump works best when it's keeping your home at a steady temperature for most of the day and night. The programmer can help you to schedule the heating of your hot water when you won’t notice the heating dipping for a short period, such as overnight.
Hot water cylinder
This is the tank that stores the hot water that you use throughout your home, from taps and your shower.
