What we did in 2024/25
- We reviewed and adapted the 5-year Environmental Strategy to help us meet net-zero targets by 2050
- We installed solar panels at each of our 64 units at Miners Court, as well as two communal panels, to help cut costs for residents
- We have started to install Solar PV and sustainable heating to our homes below EPC C (subject to survey), completing 63 by the end of the financial year
- We have improved the security of your homes by fitting replacement access control systems to enter your home and communal areas where additional security may be required to make you feel safe
- We audited 497 Coastline homes to reduce water wastage by identifying and repairing leaks and installing water saving devices which reduce the flow of water without reducing the pressure
- We partnered with Wildanet and approved the installation of fibre readiness to our homes when requested by you, providing a social tariff to our customers regardless of your property type
- We updated the ‘Greener Living’ section to our website to provide you with environmental information, advice and guidance, including the Customer Guide to Ventilation to reduce the likelihood of damp and mould in your home
- We completed and published the 2024 Annual SHIFT Report which is available to read here
- We have appointed a Sustainability and Carbon Analyst to bring greater focus to environmental and sustainability reporting at Coastline.
What we plan for 2025/26
- We will continue to work with external Partners to provide more qualifying households with solar panels and loft insulation upgrades to meet the government target of all homes being above EPC C by 2030
- We will introduce Endotherm into our gas heating systems during Blue Flame inspections to improve the energy efficiency of your home and reduce your heating bills
- We will carry out our fourth annual SHIFT assessment and publish our SHIFT report, including environmental reporting such as annual carbon emissions, energy efficiency of our homes, and biodiversity net gain
- We will develop closer joint working with local communities, climate action groups and councils to help us increase the biodiversity, look and feel of neighbourhoods
- We will produce and publish our first annual ESG report under the Sustainability Reporting Standard framework in line with our ‘Official Adopter’ commitment to Sustainability for Housing
- We will proactively seek and secure as much external funding as possible to help us improve all homes; and
- We will develop a 20-year Carbon Plan, highlighting areas for carbon reduction and encouraging a targeted approach to meet the goals outlined in our Environmental Strategy.
