Some sheltered housing schemes have Master Keys which are held by the Supported Housing Officer. This is a key that the Supported Housing Officer can use to enter any property in an emergency. If there is no Master Locking System duplicate keys will be held by the Supported Housing Officer and will be available to Standby Staff in an emergency.
We will ask for your permission to use this key in an emergency at the start of the tenancy and the Supported Housing Officer will ask you to sign a slip confirming this.
If you have given us the name of a person to contact in the event of an emergency, we advise that this person also has a key to your home. You may wish to leave a key with a neighbour or friend living nearby who will be easy to contact if you lock yourself out.
