The Supported Housing section at Coastline Housing have been accredited under the prestigious Code of Practice from the Centre for Sheltered Housing Studies (CSHS).
This accreditation is the result of around three years hard work by customer representatives and staff at Coastline, which saw us exploring new ways to make our Sheltered Housing service more customer friendly and professional.
As a result of the work, we have set ourselves some first class standards. Sheltered residents can now expect a response within five minutes after activating the emergency alarm equipment and all residents will be supplied with a trigger 'pendant' for emergencies.
This Code helps us to monitor our standards of service and ensures they become the best. It is specifically designed to raise and monitor standards of service delivered to older people and to promote good practice.
Achieving the Code of Practice means Coastline can demonstrate that it provides a quality, consistent and professional service and is committed to good practice and continuous improvement involving both staff and service users.
The Code of Practice sets standards for working practices in the areas of:
- Service Delivery, Review and Continuous Improvement
- Policy and Legislation
- Equality and Diversity
- Rights and Responsibilities
- Confidentiality and Privacy
- Independence and Empowerment
- Professional Role and Responsibilites
- Collaboration and Community Development
- Trained and Supported Staff
- Physical Environment
