If help is needed when the Supported Housing Officer is off duty, the intercom system can be used to call our 24 hour Control Centre. The Control Operator will be able to talk to you and ascertain the nature of the problem and ensure that any appropriate assistance is provided.
In an emergency, the Control Operator will call the appropriate emergency service and attempt to contact the Supported Housing Officer or one of the people named as emergency contacts. If none of these people are available the Operator will call for assistance from another Supported Housing Officer.
All calls at the Control Centre are voice recorded for reference and training purposes. In the event of a problem at the Control Centre affecting power or telephone failure, calls are automatically redirected to another Control Centre in Plymouth.
Outside normal office hours, we also have a Standby Officer who can respond in an urgent situation if your emergency contacts cannot be reached.
