Coastline Housing Ltd and the West Cornwall Anti-Social Behaviour Team (WCASBT, based at Kerrier District Council) have made history by creating and signing up to the very first Anti-Social Behaviour Service Level Agreement of its kind in Cornwall.
The Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliments the main message from the Government's Respect Agenda and will ensure that Coastline operates in partnership to provide an Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy which:
. Develops a neighbourhood strategy for anti-social behaviour;
. Works towards providing sustainable communities, which are safe and reduce the fear or perception of crime;
. Improves the quality of life for our residents;
. Works in partnership with agencies to co-ordinate services for safer communities.
The SLA is to improve joint working at community level to achieve the aims and targets within the Cornwall Housing strategy associated with managing anti-social behaviour crime and disorder and improving the quality of life for all.
Kevin Brown, Housing Services Manager for Coastline Housing Ltd says, "At Coastline Housing Ltd, we pride ourselves in our ability to effectively deal with Anti-social behaviour involving our customers. However, in reality most cases of anti-social behaviour are dealt with in partnership with other agencies such as the Police, Social Services departments, the local authority and significantly, the West Cornwall Anti-social Behaviour Team, based at Kerrier District Council.
"This service level agreement between us and the West Cornwall ASB Team merely formalises the good work carried out by both organisations but importantly, demonstrates to customers and other stakeholders our commitment to effectively dealing with anti-social behaviour in partnership with our colleagues from other agencies. At this time, when the District Councils have their collective eyes on the formation of One Cornwall, we felt that it was important to put our relationship on this formal footing; which is a comfort to us and our customers alike".
