Two new affordable homes officially declared 'ready for sale' at Cury on The Lizard attracted a huge amount of interest from local people in search of a home to call their own.
The two homes were developed by Coastline Housing and offered on the 'New Build HomeBuy' scheme on a part-buy part-rent basis to help people get a step onto the housing ladder locally.
They were officially launched at a coffee morning in the village that attracted over 40 people. By 4pm the next working day, Coastline Housing had received six offers for the two properties.
Dr John Lander, Chair of Coastline Housing, who unveiled the new houses said: "The high demand for these houses shows, once again, that there remain many local people anxious to obtain a home of their own.
"A crucial part of our mission is to build as much new affordable housing as possible, both in urban and rural areas, to help more people who could not otherwise afford to buy a property locally."
