Transferring to a different Coastline home

If you want to move to another home owned by us, we will ask you to fill in a form called a 'transfer application form'.

We keep a register of people who would like to be housed. On the register, applicants are given 'points', which are awarded for certain types of need, such as shortage of bedrooms or medical problems. The more points you have, the higher your place on the housing list. Some people are given priority for re-housing for reasons such as:

  • serious illness
  • social needs such as serious harassment
  • relationship breakdown
  • overcrowding
  • under-occupation

Your chances of getting a transfer depend on your housing priority and the choices of areas that you make on your application form. For example, if you only want to move to a particular area, you could wait for a very long time for an offer. The more choices of areas you put down, the more chance you have of getting an offer.
