Residents’ Associations are supported by Coastline Housing and run by local people to improve their own communities.
The difference they make
Resident’s Associations are a great way for you to meet people living nearby and talk about the things that matter to you all. The Neighbourhood and Involvement Team regularly attends meetings to represent Coastline so they also offer a good chance to ask questions about our services.
Many associations also ask representatives from other organisations to attend, like the Police or local council, so they can discuss issues that concern you.
The time you need to give
Getting involved with a Residents’ Association takes just a little of your time. Most of them meet for a couple of hours every six weeks, but the amount of time you give is your choice.
How you can join
As you can see from the list below, there are many active groups in neighbourhoods and they always welcome new members. If you would like to go along, contact us at getinvolved@coastlinehousing.co.uk or call 08082 027728 and we will give you more details. Meeting dates are shown on our events page.

Residents' Association updates
Troon Village Association
During a litter pick they held during February half-term, members collected over 15 bags of rubbish in 1 hour around the streets of Troon.

The young people were sponsored and raised around £80.00 towards their ‘improvement fund’ for the skate park in Treslothan Road.
One local resident said how nice it was to see the roads and verges looking clean and tidy.
Troon Village Association are now planning to have a litter pick as a regular event during half-terms.
Trenant Residents' Association

The association has started 2012 with the election of a new Committee at its annual general meeting. The team is already in action, liaising with the local Councillor Mark Kaczmarek about playing field works, and raising money to place a seat on the hill in memory of the previous Chairman, Bill Campbell.
Porthleven
It has entered 2012 with a new Committee and a new name – ‘Porthleven Community Group’. The aim is to include everyone in the town who are welcome to join and work in partnership with the town Council, local Councillor, Coastline Housing Association and any other housing providers in the town.
Strawberry Lane Residents' Association
It has welcomed new members onto the Committee and members have already attended a Food Hygiene Course to support all the events that this community holds. Without these ‘like-minded residents’ your community would not be able to do all the fund raising it does - to provide trips and events for their community.
Trengrouse Way ‘Area’ Residents' Association
Members continue with their active group in producing the next newsletter – the 1st for 2012. Do you live in Helston and have a story to tell that would interest the Community? Let us know or contact your Customer Representative. Details are on the Notice Boards in Trengrouse Way and Trelawney Road.
Camborne West Residents' Association
It started the year with a visit from Philip Rodda of Rodda’s Creamery. The presentation was very interesting with a lot of history - the group were actively participating and asking lots of questions where Mr Rodda had the answers for!
Euny Close Residents' Association
This association has ongoing plans for keeping the estate tidy and well looked after with spring planting for the ‘beds’
Local Community Residents' Association (Redruth)
Coffee mornings and Table Top Sales continue to raise money to supplement trips for the Community. Support for these events is necessary so please check out the Notice Boards for details.
The Spinnakers (Falmouth)
A notice board is now in their communal hallway and members are working together, with funding from Coastline, to install ‘deterrents’ around the outside of the building to reduce the opportunity for anti-social behaviour from a neighbouring estate.
Paynters Lane End Estate
Residents are now benefiting from the additional parking and a ‘tidy up’ to the rear of the estate. The Notice Board advertises local events and the community meet on a regular basis to continue the cohesion already in place.
Starting an association
If you would like to start a Residents’ Association in your area, the Neighbourhood and Involvement Team can help you to launch it. We can also provide advice and support until you decide the time is right to go it alone.
Our Community Group set-up guide gives lots of information on what you need to do in the early stages.
Coastline has a Community Group start up grant which can help get the association started, and we can guide you through the application process. More information can be found on our applying for funding page.
Residents' Associations and Customer Representatives
Coastline invites members of Residents' Associations along with Customer Representatives to get together twice a year at joint meetings. They are great opportunities for people to make links with each other, learn new skills and exchange information.
Download the minutes from the last meeting to see what has been happening in our communities.
If you are a member of a Residents’ Association and would like to attend, the next meeting is on Tuesday 13th March 2012.
If you would like to know more about becoming an involved customer, please contact any member of the Neighbourhood and Involvement Team. You can e-mail getinvolved@coastlinehousing.co.uk, download the application form, call freephone 08082 027728 or our local number 01209 200200.
