Customer Representatives are a point of contact between Coastline and the community.
They volunteer to help when we want to know about our residents’ views, tell us about their neighbourhood, or provide extra support for customers contacting us.The difference they make
Our customer representatives make communities better by letting us know about things which are of concern. This includes the monitoring of grounds maintenance where they feed back to Coastline Services.
Representatives can also help another customer who may have a problem that isn’t resolved to their satisfaction. Regular meetings give representatives the chance to meet Coastline’s staff and ask questions about services.
The time you need to give
Being a customer representative can take up a different amount of your time each week. We ask that you attend a meeting four times a year when all the representatives get together. It’s a good way of finding out how the role varies in each community. Staff from other Coastline departments can be asked to attend and discuss issues with any of the services they deliver.
If there is a Coastline notice board in your area we will ask you to make occasional updates, and display your own details on it so customers know how and when to get in touch with you. Contact should only be made at reasonable times, and the Neighbourhood and Involvement Team will give you plenty of help and advice.
How you can become one
E-mail the Neighbourhood and Involvement Team getinvolved@coastlinehousing.co.uk or call 08082 027728 to let us know you are interested. We will arrange training and invite you to a customer representative meeting.
You can read more information about Customer Representatives below, or continue to navigate a course through our pages to find out about the many ways to Get Involved with Coastline.
About the group
Carharrack's Customer Representative and the group's Vice Chairman, James Wyatt, describes their contribution:
We are a group of customers who have formed to assist fellow customers on our estates. We offer help, advice and support to them all.

Coastline Housing encourages community involvement. This in turn avoids isolation and reduces social problems. This role encourages contact with the community and Coastline. We all listen to each other and the Customer Rep will encourage the customer to make contact - make that phone call where friendly staff are ready to greet you.
You will find the Customer Rep details on the Notice Board (if you have one) and through the Residents' Association. You may not have either, so how about you doing something for your community and become a Customer Rep?
The group meets 4 times a year and Coastline will cover your travelling expenses to and from the meeting.
Remember, a trouble shared is a trouble halved. So come and join us and be part of your community.
Customer Representatives in our communities
Contact information for your local Customer Representative can be found on area notice boards, if there is one nearby. You can also make contact through the Neighbourhood and Involvement Team by asking us to pass on your details to them.
