Coastline’s customers can join Sounding Boards and Action Teams to look at our services in detail and make decisions on how these are delivered.
The Sounding Boards are designed to cover the 4 key themes from the Local and Coastline Offers:
Involvement and Empowerment
Making sure we deliver excellent customer service, opportunities for involvement, and value diversity.
Tenancy
Involving you in tenancy management, rents and lettings.
Neighbourhood and Community
Improving the services in your neighbourhood.

Home
Improving repairs and maintenance services.
Action Teams are started at the request of a Sounding Board, and are there to complete short tasks or projects.
The difference they can make
Sounding Boards are for customers to consult on Coastline’s activities. The meetings are attended by staff from relevant departments and the Neighbourhood and Involvement Team. You can discuss how you think services could be improved and what you see Coastline doing well. This is also a time for us to ask for your thoughts on changes we are considering. The offers may be agreed, amended, or not happen at all according to the Sounding Board’s decision.
Action Teams are put together when a matter needs more investigation than can be completed in a Sounding Board. Their findings are then reported back for the Sounding Board to talk about. These teams are usually smaller and offer you the chance to look at subjects in a lot more detail.
Working together, the Sounding Boards and Action Teams make a real difference to services for Coastline’s customers.
The time you need to give
Sounding Board meetings last for two hours and are held six times a year. You can join one or more, so you choose how much time you want to spend at them. The Sounding Board will send out minutes and agendas ten days before a meeting, so you will need to allow time to read these through.
Action Team meetings also last for around two hours, but usually only take place when there is a particular piece of work to complete. A team may meet quite often, but then not gather again for several months. You will find out about the Action Teams and be able to volunteer for them when attending Sounding Boards.
