John comes from a banking background and was made a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in 1975 after several years of voluntary service for the Institute and acting as Chief examiner, moderator and lecturer on its educational and examination programmes.
John is currently Secretary of the Cornish Methodist Historical Association and is a Member of the Board of Governors for Truro College.
