Two star rating for Coastline Care

Anthea Hedge and Cissy Wherry celebrate the rating

Local company Coastline Care has received a rating of ‘two stars and a good service’ from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after a recent unannounced inspection.

Following a full assessment on how well Coastline Care was meeting the needs of the people it cares for, the CQC decided it was providing a good level of service.

The inspection report revealed that care staff work in a professional manner, are caring and supportive, and that the care received is not rushed and is delivered according to people’s wishes.

Coastline Care is a subsidiary company of Coastline Housing which was launched in June 2009 by Lady Mary Holborow. It provides domiciliary care to people who are elderly, and people with a range of disabilities, throughout west and central Cornwall. Its head office is based in Camborne.

Any profits made from Coastline Care are fed back into the parent company, Coastline Housing, to assist it in its charitable endeavours to help the homeless and those in need of affordable housing in the County.

Anthea Hedge, Registered Manager of Coastline Care, said: “Providing care to people in their own homes can make a huge difference to people’s lives. It’s so important that people are helped to live independently and happily for as long as possible in the home environment they know and love. It’s also a very trusted position to be in, so getting the seal of approval from the Care Quality Commission is obviously something we’re extremely proud of.”
