An independent satisfaction survey carried out on behalf of Coastline Housing has revealed that nine out of ten tenants are satisfied with the quality of their home, and over 85% are happy with their neighbourhood as a place to live.
The majority of tenants were also satisfied that their rent represents value for money and 87% were satisfied with the overall service provided by Coastline Housing.
Coastline Housing is an independent, not-for-profit housing association owning and managing over 3,700 homes in towns and villages across Cornwall, from The Lizard in the south up to Lewannick in the north of the county.
The Company instructed an independent research company to survey all of its customers between October and December 2009. The exercise was part of a national Government requirement for all social landlords to carry out a standard satisfaction survey so that results can be compared regionally and nationally.
Coastline’s tenants’ responses have put the landlord amongst the best in the country for the three main survey areas: overall customer satisfaction, satisfaction with repairs and maintenance services and satisfaction with taking tenants’ views into account.
Coastline tenant Chris Towner, Chair of the customer-led Monitoring and Review Panel, said of the survey: “Many more tenants completed the survey than expected, and Coastline came out with flying colours, setting it within the top quarter of all housing associations in respect of tenant satisfaction. Well done, Coastline, and thank you to those tenants.”
Robert Nettleton, Chief Executive of Coastline Housing, added: “We are delighted with this positive feedback from our tenants, as this is exactly what we strive for as a landlord. However, there are always further improvements that can be made to our service so we are determined not to stand still, and to keep listening to tenants and shaping our future services to meet their needs.”
