24 hour ASB phone line

Coastline Housing has been piloting a dedicated out of hours phone service that enables customers to call and report anti-social behaviour as it happens in their community.

The ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) Respect Line, which is operated by an independent provider, allows customers to call free of charge and speak with a trained member of staff at the time an incident is taking place.

Around 90% of anti-social behaviour happens outside of the normal 9-5 working day and, thanks to this new service Coastline customers will be able to seek advice and reassurance that their problem is being addressed as soon as possible.

Kevin Brown, Head of Housing Services at Coastline said, “Anti-social behaviour continues to be a key issue for landlords, customers and communities. This service offers our customers peace of mind that help and advice is just a phone call away outside of our office hours.”

The team manning the phone line can also contact the Police or Environmental Health team on customers’ behalf and a ‘call back’ facility provides an extra level of reassurance following initial calls.

The pilot service, which is due to finish at the end of March 2012, will be evaluated in early 2012, with a possible 12 month extension until March 2013.

As part of its ongoing commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour, Coastline has signed up to the Respect ASB charter for housing. The charter demonstrates its willingness to provide a high quality service and accountability to customers.

For customers wishing to make use of the service, the ASB Respect Line number is: 0800 075 66 99
