Ever popular with Coastline customers, this year's gardening competition saw a record number of entries, with standards the highest yet. Judging took place earlier this month and here we reveal the talented winners.
Enthusiastic green-fingered customers from Redruth, Camborne and Illogan to Mabe and Mullion and beyond proudly entered their glorious gardens in the contest.
With ten categories on offer from most attractive small garden and best vegetable garden to best gardener with disabilities and best children’s patch, all entrants dug deep to create some truly imaginative and impressive displays. These included amazing hanging baskets, colourful rockeries and artistic garden statues.
Regular garden competition judges, Chairman of Coastline Housing, Dr John Lander, and professional gardener, Jeannie Bates, had the difficult job of judging all the many superb entries in this year's competition.
John said: “It was a great pleasure to meet a selection of our customers over the two days of judging. It is always a privilege for me to see the gardens they have tended and, especially, to hear a little of their lives and experiences.”
Jeannie added: “Once again great effort and considerable gardening skills have been shown by the entrants to the gardening competition. It is inspiring and a real treat for me to see the lovely hidden gardens of Coastline customers."
The overall winner of the Neil Dutton Memorial Cup was Donald Tippett of Camborne.
