Coastline awarded Code of Practice

Group receiving Code of Practice accreditation

Coastline Housing has just been awarded the prestigious Code of Practice accreditation for excellent services in housing support.

The Camborne based social housing provider received the Code of Practice from the Centre for Housing and Support, which provides professional training and support to people involved in sheltered and supported housing and housing support services.

Coastline achieved the accreditation, which is valid for three years, in 2007 and has been working hard towards re-accreditation since this date.

Organisations working towards the Code are measured against a set of ten standards, which evaluate the company’s commitment to a range of areas from quality assurance and continuous improvement to the physical environment of the housing accommodation.

Alice Blenes, Senior Supported Housing Officer at Coastline Housing, headed up the team and submitted the final report. “Many people put in a great deal of work,” she said. “Achieving this very exacting industry standard of excellence in support services for older persons proves that Coastline is providing the very highest quality care and support to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.”

Christine Walker, Director at the Centre for Housing and Support said:

“In achieving accreditation by the CHS Code of Practice, Coastline has demonstrated a real commitment to responsible service management, to ensure that services are fair, accountable and developed with residents at the heart.  The Accreditation is evidence that the Sheltered Housing Service provides professional, consistent and high quality services and shows the real importance these services make to people’s lives.”
